Well, I’m officially off hiatus and back on all my online profiles. Not that I was completely off of them to begin with, more like really limiting my time on them. This break from things has been good though I think. I finally did something about that whole depression/apathy thing plaguing me, got some meds and I’m planning an appointment with a councilor here soon, so that should be helpful too.
Despite all that though, I can’t exactly say that I am 100x better then I was before I took the hiatus, more like, one step up from where I was, which is good in a sense, but still miles away from where I hoped to be. I guess these things just take time...

I did happen to regain some of my creative passion and ideas back though, so that was very nice and I found it in one of the last places I thought it would be.

Minecraft.

Yep, you read that right. Minecraft helped me get back my creative spirit.
I had always been sort of adverse to the game itself since there was no real plot or story line to the game and I’ve never really been a huge fan of games that had no real concrete objective, they’ve never really held my attention before...
But then my little brother started playing it with his friend. I got up one morning to find my bro playing the game and I sat down to watch him while I ate my breakfast. While I was sitting there, the first thing I noticed was the sound track. The music was very soothing and relaxing, and even though I love the exciting theme music in Pokemon games, it can get to be a bit much at times.
It was nice to listen to and even though the graphics are far from what I’m used to, the simplicity of the game was rather compelling. You mine and hunt for materials, you build stuff, you explore, and occasionally fight off a baddy or two. All in all the game is kind of mindless, but that’s what makes it good in my opinion. The game may be simple, but it also calls on your creativity, when you’re building things likes houses and even digging mines. Needless to say, it piqued my interest, so I bought the PS3 version and long story short, I got hooked.
Ever since I got it after Christmas I’ve been having a hard time dividing up my time between drawing and playing the game, I wanna do both, but there are sadly only so many hours in a day... That sure hasn’t stopped me from staying up till 3am playing the game though.

Also, over the hiatus I finally got started on some ideas for making merchandise since I’ve been wanting to try and sell some of my art in artist alleys and stuff. I got a button maker and hopefully I’ll be setting up my online shop here soon, so you’ll be seeing some art work for that here soon I should think.

Now, last thing:
I've decided that it's finally time for me to open up a few slots for commissions. All the info on my pricing and the kinds of commissions I take can be found in this journal.

I'll only be opening up five slots for now until I get the rhythm for them going, so if you're interested, send me a note and grab one while you can, slots are first come first serve.

You can find out if slots are still available in the Art Status box on my main page.

If you want to see samples of my work, please have a look at my gallery.

Later Days
