Moving Away From DA?
So. Been a while since I posted here. But yeah, I'm just gonna move away from using my DA anymore. I'm not going to delete it, I'm just goin to kinda, leave it be. Like, are there even any active watchers on here anymore or no?... I am currently rebranding as well. Yes, KGScribbles is no longer my official artist brand, I'm now going by Color Sprite. I do have an alternate DA profile with that name, but I'm just gonna let it be too. I would seriously consider following me on my Instagram or TikTok, those are like the only places I post currently. My name is Color.Sprite on both of those, and yes you do need to include the period between the words. I'm actually curious to see if anybody even sees this tbh. How you're meant to check what's been posted by the people you follow on here is really convoluted. I miss the old DA notification system...
Convention Schedule 2022 and Some Other Updates
I've finally been able to make it into more then one convention this year! I was able to find more cons that had first come first serve applications rather then a lottery system or a juried one. I've just had more luck with the first come first served ones. Granted though, most of the ones I've applied to are newer and don't have as large a following as say, Anime North. Anyway, here is my con schedule for the rest of the year! March 18th - 20th: Anime New Mexico COMPLETE May 27th - 29th: Anime Onsen July 1st - 3rd: Denver Fan Expo August 19th - 21st: Colorado Springs Comic Con September 2nd - 4th: Nan Desu Kan (Denied) October 22nd - 24th: Santa Fe Comic Con (Application Pending) For the cons where my application is still pending, if I don't make it into them, then I most likely won't be going even as an attendee. I'll def be applying again next year though as I want to do this full time so I can quit my day job. I just wish I had better luck with the Jurried and Lottery
DA Subscriptions?
So I guess DA is now like Patreon and allowing people to add subscriptions to their profile (the subs are in beta though). I'm curious to see if this works out well for the platform or if it's still better to stick with Patreon, which is more established as a subscription site already. I gotta say though, it would be nice to have, like, all of that stuff in one place. So the DA subs is tempting for me to try out, but I'm sure I have to get a Core membership and pay fees, while Patreon only takes a fee from your donations and there is no fee just to have a profile (or upgraded profile rather). I'd definitely like to see the reviews of this system before I really consider trying it, but I gotta say, it is tempting to try just to shrink the amount of profiles I have on the net. I have so many... TTvTT (EDIT: You can do this) My biggest question though, is there a way to upload a work and still let everyone see it regardless of if they're subscribed to you or not? CO Springs Comic Con
This first and only convention that I am participating in this year is next weekend, Aug 27th-29th! The con is being held at the Broadmoor World Arena and I'll be in the Artist Alley at table #34. If you're planning on going, maybe I'll see ya there :3
